The Fire Choirs are Edmonton’s newest community-based singing ensembles, dedicated to empowering young people through the transformative power of music. Rooted in the principles of equity, inclusion, and social justice, Fire Choirs provide a safe, welcoming, and affirming space where youth of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities can come together in harmony—both musically and socially.
Open to singers ages 11–17, Fire Choirs embrace cultural diversity and actively work to remove barriers to participation, including financial and systemic obstacles. We offer sliding-scale tuition and inclusive programming that reflects the voices, stories, and lived experiences of the communities we serve.
Our repertoire spans genres, languages, and musical traditions from around the world, with a focus on music that promotes empathy, understanding, and community engagement. Through regular rehearsals, performances, and outreach initiatives, we strive to foster not only musical excellence, but also leadership, confidence, and a deep sense of belonging in every singer.
At Fire Choirs, we believe that every young person deserves to be heard—and that when we sing together, we build a more just and compassionate world.
